T-cell engager (TCE) innovation is accelerating rapidly, with patent filings more than doubling since 2018 as development shifts toward next‑generation formats such as trispecifics and ADC‑based TCEs. Despite this expansion, activity remains heavily concentrated in oncology, which still accounts for 83% of patent filings, while emerging modalities are driving the fastest growth. The commercial potential of this space is underscored by landmark deals, including the $22.2B Daiichi Sankyo and Merck collaboration, alongside a growing pool of 168 disclosed trispecific assets, an increasing proportion of which are progressing into clinical development.
